I am a dedicated educator deeply committed to fostering holistic development in students. My ultimate goal is to ensure that every student achieves success, and I firmly believe in the power of positive reinforcement and encouragement as catalysts for growth.
Alongside my extensive teaching background, I hold a PhD in Biotechnology and a Postgraduate degree in Education, which equip me with a strong knowledge base and pedagogical expertise.
I cherish the art of writing, and my most recent achievement lies in the creation of my autobiographical work titled "The Unvarnished Truth: Purpose in Pain." It holds a special place in my heart.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I take pride in being a loving mother to two remarkable adult children.
Through heartache and despair, there is always hope. "I am masterpiece painted by the Divine artist."
Throughout my entire life, teaching has been my true calling. From a young age, I possessed an innate instinct for nurturing and educating others. After a brief period of engaging in research, I wholeheartedly pursued my passion and embarked on a lecturing career at a local university. Several years later, in 2012, I took a significant leap and established my own private tutoring business, which rapidly flourished as my students achieved remarkable National and Caribbean-wide recognition.
In 2022, my tutoring business underwent a transformative rebranding and emerged as " Your Empowerment Solutions (YES) Institute." Our mission at YES is to holistically develop students by nurturing their academic abilities, cultivating leadership skills, and enhancing their personal growth. In addition to running YES, I actively conduct workshops tailored for students, teachers, and parents, providing them with valuable insights and strategies for success. Writing has always been a cherished passion of mine, and I have authored nine influential books. Furthermore, I am honored to serve as a Career and Education columnist for the esteemed Jamaica Observer.
Outside the realm of education, I have proudly served as the former Chairman of the Friends of the Bustamante Hospital for Children. It has been a privilege to contribute to the betterment of healthcare and the well-being of children in our country.
My journey has been filled with twists and turns, joys and sorrows. My greatest joy continues to be working with and helping young people achieve their full potential.
